I did not think was going to be worth of a post. But this is a damn good sub five minute match with Bossman and Gangrel going at full speed.



This is a Headbangers squash with Tracy Smothers and Rick Micheals of NWA Wildside sorta fame.

Gotta say seeing Micheals in 02/03 its hard to believe its the same guy.

This is a really good match. Finish sucks but everything else is great. RVD actually controls most of it. Keeping Bam Bam on the mat with stiff kicks. Til Bam Bam finally manages to regain control with sheer power.

At this point its decided the match needs a bunch of run ins. From Candido, Sunny, FRAncine and Shane Douglas. RVD nails Bam Bam with a missle flying kick and pins him. The problem with that finish is you could of done the same thing with Fonzie. Anyway really good match well worth checking out.

New stuff

Kaientai vs Hardys vs Dudleys vs Headbangers

Not much to write home about. The Hardys and Dudleys have little chemistry. Once Kaientai and the Headbangers get in things improve. Headbangers are clearly the best team in this. Anyway Dudleys win with 3D.

Bam Bam Bigelow vs Pitbull #2

Bam Bam's debut in ECW. Well actually his debut was a year before vs Terry Gordy but this is the start of his big run. Bigelow beats 2 to a bloody pulp. Bigelow holds down 2 with a bear hug and then a chinlock. But he is nit doing it in a catch a breath way but rather he is trying to crush the air out of Pitbull 2's lungs. 2 makes a comeback hitting some great looking clotheslines and shoulderblocks. Bam Bam hits a great looking powerbomb. There are too many runins near the end. I guess ECW still had plans for Pitbull #2. But check it out real good stuff here.

I cant help myself I just love Stevie and the Meanie. Manie gets hated on but almost everything he does looks smooth. The end sequence was good with the avalanche into superkick into meaniesault.

Mideon and Viscera squash


Always love Vis killing dudes. Even if the finisj here looks suspiciously simular to the previous match that aired a week earlier. And hey its Derrick Dukes.

Some Shotgun matches

Found some Dan Severn matches on youtube.



Castillo is he last of the Boriquas at this point. This is a good tv match with Castillo taking the fight to Severn using suplexes. Til Severn gets pissed and ragdolls him and finishes him off with a Dragon Sleeper.

vs Robert Thompson. This is an awesome squash with a nice build. With Severn feeling out Thompson and then starts tearing him apart with matwork before going into the suplexes. Give this one a look.

Pretty fun squash of JR Ryder. A guy I only know from some MTV WWF contest along with the Musketeer.

I saved this for last. You know both Owen Hart and Taka could mail it in when they wanted to. But Owen had one of his "Im just going to be awesome" nights and tore the house down with Taka.

One of the best under five minate matches I have ever seen. Val is a fantastic heel. Brutal offense that always looks like he wants to hurt the other guy. Pac is his normal great self. Doing all the right underdog moves. IThey fit a ton of stuff into a few minates.

Six man match from the same show. Great example of how to do a multiman match. Everybody is in only briefly so everybody looks good. Ecept for Mero who was kept out of the match til nearly the end. He hits a smoan drop and gets eliminated. Everybody else shined.

This match is great. Its joined in progress so maybe the first few minates blow. But even if thats true it would barely bring the average down. These two just go a thousend miles an hour. This is how you do a spot match.

Really cool tv match. Doc starts by doing amateur stuff to take Bundy down. Eventually Bundy starts punching and kicking Doc to gain control. Really good match check it out.

Bundymania running wild!!!!!

Recently I dug out these compilations I bought from Bnewt. One of them was for King Kong Bundy. I have pontificated on Bundy earlier so lets skip that.

These are his final major matches in the WWF against arch rival Hulk Hogan.

The first is from SNME 13 that aired in December 1987.

First things first Bobby Heenan announces that Andre will be in his corner.

Bundy and Hogan tie up hesitant. Then Hogan is unsuccessful knocking Bundy down. Bundy works over Hogan's back. Bundy screws up and it looks like its going to be a short night as Andre trips Hogan up. But the ref sends Andre to the back. I've went into this before but Andre is really underated. He may have been slow and broken down but he project an aura that can't be matched.

Anyway the match continues with Hogan and Bundy trading control back in forth. There is this big story of Bundy trying to solve the Hulk Up. Only bad thing here is the finish. Because the referee had to be really out of position to miss Heenan intefereing. I loved Hogan sucker punching Bundy and mauling Heenan.

Okay Heenan is injured and Andre has a managers license. This match starts out with Hoganbattering Bundy. Bundy eventually takes over by working over Hogan's arm. This is a really good match and should of been on the DVDVR Best of the 80s list.

Really good for a 1998 WWF Vader match. Bart had punched out Vader on Raw. So they had a match on Heat. Not much else to say.Its just a nice match with Bart Gunn trying to punch out Vader and Vader trying to sqash Bart.

Decent enough tv match. Ken is really trying hard here. Vader is giving an effort but its clear he is resting up for AJPW. I wonder how often these two wrestled on house shows because they seem to have a really good formula. Nice finish too

Good tv match with Gangrel crushing Taka with various power moves. Taka matches come in three varieties in the WWF.

1. He does not feel like trying and blows everything.

2. He wants to try but he is given two minates. Like the really disappointing match with Pac.

3. And this is very rare. Taka is given time and feels like trying.

This is category 3. Taka takes really good bumps and Gangrel is willing to sell for him. Though the Togo match is better.

Forget the exact month. But Jimmy Hart is still managing Bundy.

King Kong Bundy is really underrated. At least in the 1980s he is. Really nice looking offense and is great at bumping. Like a big fat pinball. I think he is Hogan's best oppoent. This is there first match ever.

I wonder whatever happened to Pittman. He was getting a huge push in 95 abnd getting a really over submission hold, then he just faded away. You can tell by watching this match he had a world of potential. This is your basic brawler vs technical wrestler match. With Duggan continually trying to turn it into a brawl with Pittman taking Hacksaw off his feet. Check it out.

This is a really underrated series. I caught the December 88 match on 24/7. It was a great match. The kind of match if it were on tv or ppv people would be all the rage online. This is a different match from the October 88 Boston Garden show. Really good match. If I can find the MSG match I will post it.

THis was pretty sweet. They put RVD and Brock over huge. RVD just kicks Brock as hard as he can. While Brock keeps cutting off RVD's offense and crushing him with power moves. They end up doing the dq finish because Brock was due to win the WWE belt at Summerslam. Download link coming later.

And here is another RVD vs Brock match. Night after KOTR 02. Brock gets an IC title match. Cool thing about this series is they do not repeat too much stuff. So every match feels different.

Rock vs Angle vs Big Show

This was pretty rad. Show had intefered in the WWF title match the night before. He had also won the Hardcore belt. As punishment he had to defend it against Angle and the WWF champion (!) the Rock. Eventually it all breaks down with various run ins. Which makes it better.

Watched this on Youtube. Really good, showing Shelton to be the most wildly inconsistent wrestler in WWE. One week he is great the next not so great.
