Rick Rude carries himself like all pro wrestlers should. You never once think of him as a guy playing a role. He looks serious and determined to win back his U.S title. Dustin comes out next. He looks confident but a little scarred of Rude. As if he knows that he can't win.
I remember when I was twelve I dreaded this match, because I knew Rude would win the title the first chance he got. The only guy I thought could beat Rick Rude was Vader, and the cure was worse than the sickness.
Anyway the match starts with Rude beating up Dustin in the corner. Hitting him with forearms and shoulderblocks. Dustin fights back but Rude regains the advantage with a bearhug. At this point there is an edit.
This match was booked really well as a way to kick off a series of matches. Both Dustin and Rude get visual pinfalls after ref bumps. The finish comes when Dustin hits a backdrop suplex, and both men get their shoulders up. Rude is declared the winner, but the belt is later declared vacant.
This was a really good way to kick off a summer series between these two over the U.S title.
