WCW/nWo Nitro, September 29th 1997: Curt Hennig vs. The Giant

This match is shortly after Curt Hennig betrayed the Horsemen at Fall Brawl 97. Giant and Hennig had a really good match a month before but had a bullshit finish even I could not tolerate.

They have really great chemistry and I wish they could of gotten a ppv match. Hnnig bumps big for all of the Giant's stuff while Hennig is big enough to credibly beat up the Giant. This really reminds me of an old school Andre match. Giant dominates til Hennig ducks a clothesline and Giant takes a nasty tumble to the floor. Then Hennig actually hits the perfectplex on the Giant and the crowd lost it. I love when even the referee has a "holy shit!!" reaction. This being 1997 brings out the nWo and they beat down the Giant.

Note to Nexus this is how a gang beats down somebody. They swarm the Giant and he is still fighting back until Scott Norton clocks him with Hennig's United States championship. Then Sting comes out and shit gets crazy.
