Demolition vs the Rockers MSG October 1988

I watched Demolition/Rockers from October 1988. This was a really good match, since it felt like they were made for each other. AX is just great in the way he carries himself. Not like he is anxious to beat somebody up like the Road Warriors, but that he knows he is going to beat the tar out of some punks.

Demolition are basically the S&M version of the Andersons. Ax is Ole, the sadistic old veteran who takes his time beating up punks and ripping them to shreads. Smash is Arn, the young upstart who does the lions share of heel stooging.

The Rockers as always play a younger more athletic Rock & Roll Express, but neither one of them are as good Ricky Morton. Don't me wrong, Janetty and Micheals are great at selling a beating. But Ricky Morton makes you want to jump in the ring and save him from being killed.

The match is basic tag team wrestling with the Rockers keeping Demolition off balance with their speed and teamwork. But Demolition quickly takes controll thru power and brutality. The Rockers get a few hopespots in, but Demolition always cuts them off.
The finish coms when AX takes Janetty's head off with a clothesline.

Unfortuneatly Demolition turns face a month later so we never get to see an extended feud with these teams. This match was better than any of the Rockers/Brainbusters matches. If you enjoy those you will love this.
