1.Bubba and D-Von Dudley vs Balls Mahoney and Mike Awesome September 16 1998 Quens New York

Im really not sure if this match made tv. I know I saw clips of it in Mike Awesome video packages a year later.

Dudleys do a promo talking about how they wanted to honor the recently departed Sandman. How they had misjudged him. But one day they hoped they could leave ECW for big money too. This gets some big heat from the audience. It is strange going back and watching this stuff. At the time emotions were running high all around. Less than three years later ECW was dead and WCW was a parking lot.

This brings out Balls Mahoney. He cuts a good ernest promo. Not ranting and raving or even cursing. He just plainly says without ECW the Dudleys would be nothing working on the indy scene. He says he admits that about himself. He had hit rock bottom before ECW and he had nowhere else to go. He says this has been a long time coming and to expect the worst headache ever. But Balls turns around and gets his skull split by a chair shot. This looked dangerous but you have to understand back in the 90s nobody knew the dangers of being hit in the head with a piece of metal.

Dudleys start berating Balls but before D-von hits the third commandment Mike Awesome's FMW theme hits and I have to admit it made me cheer. He hits the ring and starts clubbering D-Von. He then powerbombs Bubba which was quite a site. Bubba no sells then power bombs Awesome. Who no sells the power bomb. I hated that spot but I understand the the thinking behind it.

Dudleys gang up on Awesome who hits a big looking double spear. He follows it with the Awesome dive. Fans are going crazy for Mike Awesome. You get why Heyman had been trying to sign him since 1994.

Back in the ring D-Von gets German suplexed. He takes an uncomfortable looking bump off of it. Not for the last time in this match.

Bubba hits Awesome with Sign Guy's sign giving D-Von the chance to attack. Dudleys do the proto Wassup headbutt but it looks a lot more painful here.

Bubba and Awesome have a chop exchange which Bubba wins with a nut shot.

Now the Dudleys are working over Awesome for the next several few minutes. It is not Demolition but it is getting the job done. Balls for his part has been selling the chair shot.

Dudleys are working over Awesome in the corner. Bubba takes the mic and says "You aint so fuckin Awesome now." Mike wesome goes nuts swinging wild. D-Von stops him a nut shot. Dudleys attempt to hit a double suplex but Awesome reverses and D-Von takes a sick bump on his head.

Balls Mahoney is in for the hot tag cleaning house on both Dudleys. Mike Awesome comes back in and they hit a double superplex on Bubba. Awesome hits an odd looking gut wrench power bomb on D-Von. Now Balls is telling him "Mike get the tables!!!!" While Awesome is busy doing that Balls hits a frog splash on D-Von. Before Balls can get the pin Sign Guy inteferes. Balls goes outside and beats up Sign Guy.

Awesome goes to hit the Awesomebomb to the floo on D-Voin but Bubba pulls him down and they hit Awesome with 3D.
