4. Sandman vs Konnan 10-6-95

These two have a more famous match three months later at House Party 96.This match is simular but the dynamic is very different. At House Party the fans were rabidly anti Konan and cheering Sandman. Here its a much more traditional heel/face set up.

Match starts with Konan tieing up Sandman in a pretzal hold. Sandman gets to the ropes and retreats outside the ring.

Sandman goes back in the ring and again he getstied up, this time its an ankle lock. Sandman is getting angry at somebody trying to make him wrestle. Sandman is doing a great job of selling this. Getting really desperate each time he gets put on the mat. Konan is now kicking him in the head over and over. Followed by a big piledriver.

Again Sandman goes outside to regroup he comes back in and is taken down in an armbar. Shifts around into an STF. I'll just say right now based on the Sandman matches, Konan looks really good. Sandman gets to the ropes and unlike most times guuys crawl to the ropes it looks credible.

Sandman crawls out again. Love heel Sandman he is this drunken ring general. Alays knowing where he is and when to run for it. I really really wish they had ran Eddy vs Sandman a few times. Sandman is pissed now and picked up a chair an circling the ring. Waiting for just the right chance to strike.

He tosses a chair in and darts at Konan hitting him with some knees before whipping him into the corner. Dropping knees on him and choking him. Sandman does a criss cros sequence and pays for it, Again trying to wrestle Konan's match. He whips Konan into the corner but Konan avoids the charge and rolls him up.

KOnan hits the rolling clothesline, followed by two more clotheslines. Sandman retreats again.

Sandman is great just pacing around he ring, his eyes never leaving Konan. K Dawg gets distracted by something and Sandman hits a hard looking lariat to the back of his head. There is this moment that is the Sandman version of Flair doing "now its time we go to school!!!!! Nice looking slingshot legdrop. Picks him up for a big bodyslam. Now a slighshot sommersault that crushed Konnan's face.

Starts throwing the punches followed by the sloppy DDT. Konnan starts to fire back and Woman hits him with the cane. Sandman follows thru with a piledriver. Sandman is pretty wiped so he takes a mid match smoke break. Konnan takes his chance to wallop Sandman in the nuts. Then steals andman's ciggerette and Konan seems pretty cool suddenly. He does kinda look like Joe Camel if you squint. Goes over to taunt Woman while some guy plays with her hair in a odd moment. She tries to hit him with the cane and Konann takes it.

Now he starts playing a tune on Sandman's head. While Andman is still selling his balls being hit. You rarely get that in wrestling. Usually guys shake it off in a minute. Instead of the slow building agony.You usually get.

Sandman is back on his feet and before getting hit thumbs Konnan in the eye and Woman tosses in a second cane. Now they are trading cane shots, ref attemots to intervene and they both hit him and the match is declared a no contest.

This does not stop them as they keep fighting. The lockerroom empties to separate them.

This did a great job setting up a rematch and it should of aired on tv in some form.
